Prince Caspian, King Caspian the tenth once he gets his rightful title, lost his father when he was young and was brought up by his uncle and aunt. As Caspian was too young then for the throne, his uncle, Miraz, became Lord Protector, and, one by one, those loyal to the old king began to vanish from their places in the Lord's Council.
One night, Caspian was woken from his sleep by his tutor, Doctor Cornelius, and hurried out of his room. His aunt had given birth to a son. Caspian watched as his uncle's soldiers arrived in his room and, unaware that he had concealed himself elsewhere, fired crossbow bolts at his curtained bed, hoping to kill him in his sleep.
Caspain fled into the forest, where many of his people, the Telmarines, feared to go, because of tales of ghosts and the memory that some creatures of Narnia had fled to the woods for survival. In the forest, Caspian found himself in the presence of the creatures of Old Narnia, and he realized that the only way he was likely to be able to live in Narnia was if he took back the throne that was rightfully his and gave the Narnians back the freedom that the Telmarines had taken from them.
AU: My Caspian has two versions. One is contained to the movie verse. The other, alternate universe, version is detailed in the in-progress fanfiction, "On Becoming a King." It can be read in my journal here or at Fanfiction.net here. The main point of the story, or what needs to be known for posts the AU!Caspian makes, is that Caspian, after the end of the movie, is exploring Narnia and finds himself back in the Golden Age when Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy ruled.
I am not Caspian, and I am not Ben Barnes. This journal is based off the new movie, Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. I have read the corresponding book and prefer the movie's take on the story.
